 Fieldstone Farm (Kirtland, Ohio) - The successful collaboration of Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center and Geauga County Educational Service Center has resulted in a unique educational environment for students with emotional disabilities. Gaitway High School, nearing completion of its facility expansion will permanently house the full academic program, which meets the Ohio Department of Education standards. Its model of experiential learning opportunities and hands-on application of the subject material is the only program of its kind in the country. The success realized in the first three years of the program has been phenomenal, including significantly reduced behavioral and disciplinary problems, improved attendance rates and grade point averages, and a 100% graduation rate!

As a sign of their commitment to the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Famicos Foundation (Cleveland, Ohio) built a new playground called Churchill Park for 2-12-year-olds in partnership with KaBOOM!, a nonprofit which advocates for children's play space. Almost 300 volunteers, including many from Home Depot, helped build the playground.

Moveable Feast (Baltimore, MD) recently signed 3 new contracts to provide meals to the Carrington House Transitional Housing Program, Jericho Project, and Baltimore's emergency shelter, thus increasing the number of meals it provides each week by 2,940 meals.

YMCA of the Palms launched an initiative as part of the new Armed Services YMCA and Department of Defense (DoD) program that provides military families access to services offered at the 2,686 YMCAs across the country. The DoD will underwrite the membership fees for military families including those of Military Reservists and the National Guard.

Great Lakes Theater Festival recently announced plans for its 48th season at its new 550-seat home at Playhouse Square's Hanna Theatre. The new "Great Room" at the Hanna features a flexible thrust stage to create a unified environment that gives its audiences a unique, intimate theater experience. Patrons at the new Hanna have a variety of seating options such as club chairs, theater seats, private boxes, banquettes, and lounge/bar seating.

Adoption Network is highlighted in a policy brief--Connected by 25: Financing Policies and Practices that Support Permanency for Youth Transitioning Out of Foster Care. Credit Where Credit is Due delivers financial education programs in partnership with nonprofit and government agencies across New York City, to empower low-income people to become productive participants in the mainstream economy.  CWCID's particular model was acknowledged when Mayor Bloomberg's administration selected CWCID to operate the city's new Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) in Manhattan which will serve 2,500 people next year.
